Need A Free Taxi Ride?

Are you going to be in London this weekend? Well if you are then you are in for a pleasant surprise. London Taxi drivers will be leaving their cabs behind and instead taking out a Nissan Leaf electric car. London will get a breath of fresh air this weekend with these eco taxis driving around the city; but this is not the best part, you can get a free ride! You may be thinking that this is great, but what do Nissan get out of this? Well they are using the lifts and Tweets to gain feedback from the consumers and they would like to clear up any myths people have heard about electric cars as they have had a bit of a bad name in the past amongst some motorists. Nissan want to show people the benefits of electric car driving, one of which is very low running costs!

Nissan are offering the free rides because as they say the running costs of the Leaf are so cheap they do not actually need to charge the customers for their ride around the city. The Nissan Leaf fleet will be sent out from the Liverpool St Station area and will travel to most destinations in London, including as far as the O2 arena! We have a feeling this is going to be helpful to a lot of people. The service is running from 10:00am to 06:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
