Jeep CEO Rules Out Italian-Built Small SUV Being a Rebadged Fiat, Still Undecided on Names


Platform sharing is a very common, and very cost-effective, practice these days. Company executives, however, fret when someone names their vehicle a “rebadge”, “re-skin” or something akin to that no matter how many parts it may actually share with a sister brand’s model.

Jeep President and CEO Mike Manley is one of those execs, despite the fact that the Fiat-Chrysler tie-up is mostly about sharing platforms, parts and expertise and minimizing costs and they practice it even at the group's luxury cars.

Toyota Wants to Make Sure You Know the Proace Looks Like the Citroen Jumpy & Peugeot Expert


Since we are approaching the launch date of the new Toyota Proace in Europe, the Japanese carmaker decided to release a fresh set of images of its commercial and passenger van series that replaces the Hiace.

If the van's appearance looks eerily familiar, it is because Toyota entered an OEM agreement with PSA Peugeot Citroën to rebadge its Citroen Jumpy and Peugeot Expert models. There's also a fourth variant of the series produced by Fiat and named the Scudo.

New Mitsubishi Mirage to be Offered in the States with a Three-Cylinder Engine from Fall 2013


The car that Mitsubishi believes will help it grow again and increase its sales on a global basis and especially in developing markets, the new Mirage, will join the brand's range in the United States next year, but we already knew that.

What a report from Car and Driver adds is that the Japanese carmaker's no-frills sub-compact will be revealed in U.S.-specification at the 2013 New York Auto Show in April, and that it will go on sale in September of the same year.
